Translation Sessions, Wednesday August 18, 2021, 1-Day parallel sessions

Organoids, organs-on-chips and the growing understanding of how to physically interface biomaterials with various cell types hold great technological and societal promise, with applications in fields including tissue engineering, drug development and human toxicology.

Important progress has been made most recently in approaches that are key to future translation and application of organ-like in vitro systems, such as cell sources, stem cell technology, 3D cell printing, and 3D high resolution imaging.

In short, innovations that have long been the stuff of science fiction may no longer be distant points on the horizon.
